Fight lasted 31 minutes. 21 minutes of p1, 10 minutes of p2 exactly (enrage)

The main challenge about Al'ar is to beat the enrage timer in p2 (DBM shows an enrage timer in p1, dunno why. There has never been one.) which is 10 minutes. Al'ar has 2,1M hp, so you have to dispose of the adds correctly.
The strategy in p2 is pretty straightforward - you should focus Al'ar until you have enough adds spawned (and keep aoe'ing them the whole time), then switch to adds when you're getting overwhelmed. This ensures you maximize your DPS as much as possible.
The p1 is the real challenging part, because if you want to beat the enrage timer, you'll have to leave 4 or 5+ adds alive from p1. It takes a TON of switches from Al'ar and prevents you from using Pestilence/Glyph of Disease, and surviving with all these adds without being able to heal yourself when running up to Al'ar on his platforms (adds have to be left somewhere between 5 and 10k hp) is quite hard.

Anyway, been there done that. As a side note while talking about BC 25-man bosses, I also did Lurker Below, which was kinda neat to solo. Lasted 50+ minutes though and I swear I was giving all the DPS I could while not dieing, so no fraps :[ and it's quite hard as I only got 10%~ overhealing over the whole fight, and went close to dieing at multiple occasions.

Spec used : 28/0/43 (probably the best spec to solo nowadays. there's absolutely nothing I can do as Blood which cannot be achieved as this spec, and the Ghoul unlocks/trivializes a lot of bosses such as Malacrass, all 4 Emerald Dragons, Yauj/Kri/Vem, Sylvanas Windrunner, and more)
