I rarely use a PvP trinket as Prot. Only in arenas will I *sometimes* wear it, but that's usually only in 3s or 5s. In 2s it doesn't really matter that much and in BGs especially, I never really never find myself saying "I really need to trinket this or I will die for sure" at any time.
