Upon the release of TBC many players noticed a type of NPC only class that roamed the lands of Outlands, the Battle-Mage, from Quest to Raids, this typically Blood Elf or Human NPC could be seen in Mage gear but dual wielding Melee weapons and because of this caused many people to want the Battle-Mage as a playable class.
