This is one of the easier bosses in the Heroic Throne of Thunder lineup

First off, the new mechanic(s):

There are four crystals located at each corner of the room.
When the crystal is struck the player is granted a massive absorb effect.
This absorb effect will cause the player to no longer take healing however, any healing (including Leech)
dealt to the player will instead increase the potency of the shield.

Old stuff:

Tortos' Turtle buddies remain unchanged and are still required to interrupt the Sand Breath attack.

The Bat adds are no different as well and are a nice way to boost the shield and or restore HP via leech.

The Strategy:

It's pretty obvious that the fight is going to revolve around the use of the shield provided by the Crystals.

This shield is very much neccessary to survive Tortos' Massive Quake ability
which will deal roughly 280,000 Damage if not mitigated at all.

Thankfully, AoE damage reduction is a rogue's forte. Re-apply the shield if needed and proceed with Feint.
The shield will more than likely be removed with very minimal damage taken when Massive Quake is used.

After Quake, re-apply the shield (The same goes for if it ever falls off)

Make sure to stay out of bad stuff; cleave the adds and interrupt Sand Breath and this boss will go down smoothly.

Tips*

Feint can be used to mitigate a lot of damage in this encounter. Use it.

Using a Focus macro to Shadowstep the Crystal can be very helpful if you've been dazed or knocked into the air by an add, especially if Quake is about to happen.

Interrupting Sand Breath still causes the Boss to take increased damage. So using excess turtles is very much an option.
